"The Food Network's show "Top 5" has gone on the hunt for the country's top cookies and placed an order in Tacoma.
After reading a December column by yours truly, "Top 5" cookie hunters tracked down Deborah Tuggle, chief executive officer of Tacoma's Friday's Cookies.
They asked Tuggle to send some samples. She happily obliged last week.
"I love the Food Network," she said. "I was like, 'Wow!'"
No word on when she'll hear whether the Friday's Original, Mount Rainier or, perhaps, the Olympic cookies made the cut. I'd vote for the one with the cranberries. Stay tuned."

"Deborah Tuggle, of Day Island, is the baker behind the Friday's Cookies name. Her logo, 'So good you'll want one every day of the week,' should serve as a reminder of what happens when you try to eat just one of her rich cookies."
"'You feel like you're getting your money's worth when you bite into them. They're superior to most cookies. There's an elegance here you don't get with other cookies.'"
